Visitors in September
September was a month filled with visitors from Holland. First, my mother with her 4 friends.

They flew to Calgary and took the train from there to Vancouver, the Rocky Mountaineer. After a few days in Vancouver they rented a car for a trip. First Vancouver Island, then the Sunshine coast, Whistler and through Lillooet, Lytton and Hope back to Vancouver. They had a great trip!

Lisette arrived at the end of September for a week. A week seems short, but we’ve done and seen a lot! First the city, we walked by the beach and immediately Lisette put on her bikini and jumped in the water.

“The water is lovely!”
This is the garden at the building where I have my meetings with the Sierra Club (the SPEC building). It is a demonstration garden for organic gardening and composting.

Finally…. lunch!

Sushi…..mmm…..
We had to do a nice hike with Lisette of course. We went to Elfin Lakes.

The colours of autumn

It was an 11 km hike up and down mountains to two lovely lakes.

A little rest in the sun

The lake was very cold so no bikini’s this time
On saturday Mike and I had a wedding to go to in Tofino. It is a trip of 5 hours, but a nice trip through a nice area. There are good spots to stop on the way.

There was a special tree in the backyard of our hotel

Tofino isn’t big, but there is a lot to do and see because of the fantastic nature.

Lisette went whale watching
The rainforest is amazing.

The coast of the pacific ocean is spectacular.

We had to go back to Vancouver, a week does go by fast
On the last day we went to Stanley Park.

Even though it was only for a week, it is so nice having a good friend around. It was very nice showing lisette my life, where I work and live and the beautiful surroundings here. I can’t wait to see who’s next…
