It has been a long time so today I’m taking the time to chat a little with you. Spring has arrived, the weather has been lovely so the hiking season has started!

Saturday we went to Golden Ears Park. The trail wasn’t too difficult, but it was very nice to spent time in the forest.

Mike’s hair is getting long! I like it.

Chang banquet

This was my first official ‘Chang banquet’. At every occasion in the Chang familiy a 10-course banquet is given. This time the occasion was the birth of the daughter of Mike’s cousin. The menu is always the same and everything has a meaning. Unfortunately the younger generation doesn’t know what it all means, “It is supposed to be like this”, it is hard to talk to the older generation, they mainly speak Cantonese. The pink egg is only present at baby showers, why? “something to do with fertility”

This was a small group, about 300 people. Mike doesn’t know who everybody is and I’m introduced to so many people, I completely lost track.

Mike with his cousin Nelson and a lot of food. Everything was meat or fish, but it was announced I am vegetarian so I had my own vegetarian dish, no 10 courses for me, but delicious tofu.
