Today I’m officially landed in Canada. That’s what it’s called when you receive your Permanent Residency. I had to leave the country for 2 minutes. We drove to the US border. We had to tell the US border officer that I came to land in Canada, he gave us a form that said ‘flag pole’. Then we had to go into the US border building and another form was filled out that said we were denied to go into the US. We had to drive back to the Canadian border and here we got another form. We went into the Canadian building and there I got my Permanent Residency. It wasn’t a big hassle and it went pretty smoothly. The embassy had made a little mistake. The forms said ‘male’ instead of ‘female’, fortunately they believed I’m female and changed it in the computer.

A picture at the first totem pole we saw with the form that’s stapled into my passport. In a few weeks I’ll receive my official card.
I went to get my SIN number today as well. Another government agency, but it went pretty fast and painless. Tomorrow I can start working! I will have a proper celebration, but Mike and I had a beer to celebrate today.
